Plot: Louisiana, 1935. Paul Edgecomb, prison officer, supervises the death row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. He, agent Brutus, his best friend and other colleagues including Percy, sadistic and highly recommended, are responsible for monitoring prisoners sentenced to death and to accompany that last the day of the long corridor who is called the 'Green Mile' for the color of the linoleum. Among the prisoners is John Coffey, a big man of color more than two meters high found guilty of murdering two little girls. But, in contrast to the imposing and menacing appearance, John is rather gentle and kind to everyone, even naive, and at the mercy of a child afraid of the dark. And especially after some time verification of person John Paul has another important quality: it manages to get out, sucking, pain from people. While some executions go ahead and Percy took the opportunity to make despicable acts of violence, Paul begins to question the actual guilt of John. Then take the responsibility to lead him out of home Melinda, wife of the prison, gravely ill. Melinda heals, John returned to prison, Percy attacks and send negative energy. Percy, in turn, kills the inmate William and remains stunned. But now the signs were clear for Paul William was the murderer of little girls, John is innocent but will not change. After watching a couple of films Astaire / Rogers, is coming to an electric chair and executed. Sixty years later, Paul, a guest in a nursing home is telling these facts to a friend. With the same emotion at the time.
